My sister and I would spend hours catching these guys when we would go visit my grandparents at their cottage. (We always let them go, I promise)
Whenever I see little tiny baby frogs like this all I can manage to think of is Florida Hurricane Fest 2004. We had 4 mildly terrible hurricanes hit my part of Florida one after the next and aside from leaving me without power half of the time for 2 months and never-ending debris to be cleaned in my yard, there was an over abundance of water everywhere, especially at my high school. With all of the new ponds and standing water millions of tiny frogs developed and overtook the Santa Fe High School campus, reminiscent of Egypt’s biblical plague. No joke, it was impossible to walk to class without stepping all over them which was both gross and sad.
