Think of me fondly and send your good vibes.
Some facts:
- I quit my customer service/cash office job at Hitchcock’s Foodway in April. Partly because I got myself in a really awkward situation, but mostly because I was tired of working for a misogynistic company that paid me less and regularly passed over me for the managers job.
- Before I quit HF, I was already in the beginning stages of starting my own company. I gave it a really good go, but the town I live in was just too small to sustain it.
- I luckily found a few jobs with a few local companies doing some web work. Mostly updating databases and a little simple design. I made a little cash, finished up the work they needed, and had to move on.
- Now having had some actual experience I found a longer contract job with another website helping them with SEO, spam detecting, and search engine evaluation. This is ending.
- I have not been making much money and have barely been able to pay my bills.
- I was offered a longer contract with another web company thanks to my experience with SEO. They are going to pay me better then any company I have ever worked for, nearly doubling my salary at Hitchcock’s.
This is where your good vibes come in. To get this job with said company I need to pass a 500 question and exam and score above 95%. I’m really nervous because the practice exam is HARD. So please send some good thoughts and prayers my way if your into that sort of thing, because I really need this. I will be able to afford to go back to school.
